Through a very generous grant by the State of Oregon, Ukiah School District has been working to support our teachers by building staff housing. In the past several years the limited number of houses for sale and rent in our community has impacted the District's ability to recruit new staff.
Over the past few months, our Board and Superintendent explored options, made plans, and put things in motion to make the most of this opportunity. Our intent is build two homes with the state grant funds before the start of the 2023-2024 school year.
The first phase of this project is nearing completion with the placement of our first home on Pine Street. The second phase will be placed in the Spring of 2023. This project will have a very significant impact on the future of our district and the opportunities we can provide to our community.
